Journey Women

The Journey Women’s Ministry exists to invest in the lives of women, drawing them unto Christ and to one another in genuine community so they can be the women, wives and mothers that God has called them to be.

What are some things that are going on now for the Women of The Journey?

Everett Gospel Mission Women's Shelter

As you may know, some of the men have coordinated to volunteer once a month at the Everett Gospel Mission Men's Shelter.  The women have an opportunity to serve the women, as well.

The Mission houses the Men separate from the Women and Children.  Our opportunity would be to serve once a month on a Saturday from approximately Noon-5pm watching/interacting with the children.  This would allow the moms a window of time to do some much needed "mom stuff".

We can select the dates and the mission will post those dates for the moms to sign up.  Once we know how many kids and their ages, we'll know how many volunteers we'll need.  Since it would be approx. 5 hours (due to bus schedules, etc.), we can split that into shifts (Noon-2:30; 2:30-5pm).

We'd have access to thier kitchen to bake cookies, we could watch movies, play outside at the playground, bring them craft projects, etc.  This is such an exciting way to reach out and bless these moms!

We would so appreciate it if you could indicate your interest in serving before we make a commitment to take this on.  Our next step would be to select a few Saturdays and offer a sign up for shifts.  Please contact  to indicate your interest.

Bible Studies
Journey women participate in organized Bible studies several times a year. The multi-week studies encourage a daily reliance on God’s Word, as well as small group discussion and prayer. Topics vary from breaking free from spiritual bondage to exploring the significance of the church being called the Bride of Christ.

There are currently no Bible studies for women. Click here to learn more about other Journey-wide classes available now.

Ladies Night Out
These quarterly events are designed for women of all seasons of life to come together for a fun activity, from dinner out on the town to an in-house game night. Ladies Night Out is a great opportunity to reach out to friends or neighbors and simply relax and have a good time!

Next Ladies Night Out Event: Fondue Night

Come enjoy the interactive appetizer of fondue, complete with cheese and chocolate dipping varieties. If your last name begins with A-M, please bring something to dip into cheese (e.g. bread, veggies or apples), and if your last name begins with N-Z, please bring something to dip into chocolate (e.g. fruit, rice crispy treats or lady fingers). Anyone who brings a friend to Fondue Night will be entered into a prize drawing for a gift card to The Melting Pot!   See the event calendar for event details.

GOSPEL STORIES

Transformed not Conformed//Adam Sheffield

Daniel is used by God to carry his message, God gives him wisdom and shows him favor, gives him the meanings of dreams, foretells of coming kingdoms and the end times through him, saves him from the mouths of vicious lions because of his faith, and speaks to the hearts of two different kings ruling over two of the greatest empires. And this was all while being held as a captive in a foreign land and knowing that while serving the king, he could be put to death at any moment for any reason. Why did God choose to use Daniel and allow him to go through so much?... more...

Mercy//Heather Barrett

As we learned a few weeks ago, God’s mercy should dominate our lives. We are all sinners, saved not by our own works, but by God’s amazing mercy (Titus 3:5). While still dead in our sins, the Lord not only withheld our punishment, He sent His only Son to take our place! Jesus died the death we should have... more...

Consider The Cost//Chris Mayfield

Have you ever wanted to build something from scratch, but stopped after drawing out the building plans? Ever say, “I am going to work out every single day this year,” and shot out like a cannon for the first week only to go down like a house of cards? Oh and how about this one, “We are going to be out of debt by the end of the year!” Didn’t work out so well did it? more...
