Journey's new location & info on transition!

So the news is: We have signed a lease to rent the former FGM Church building on 2814 Colby Ave right in the heart of downtown Everett, the county seat of Snohomish County! This is has been a process for sure, but we are glad to be done and now ready to see how God wants to use us! Hopefully, used in even greater ways to get the name of Jesus out.  So that is done and now this is where we all come in to prepare this place to be a gathering place. If you thought being portable was ...

Jesus doesn't need your tithe...(Acts 17:25)

Categorized as Giving and Finances at Journey Church

Money…the taboo subject. The topic that hits a little too close to home. The one thing that sends many people straight out the church door. “They’re just after my money.” “They don’t really care about me.” “I work too hard for my money.” “I just can’t afford to give anything.” But if something is that important to us, if it strikes such a chord and is such a big part of our lives, then why would we try to convince ...

Mountain Top IN The Valley

There is nothing like a mountain top experience physically and spiritually! Today I am leaving the mountain top experience of my yearly pastoral retreat. It has been good, it has been refreshing, it has been eye opening. But honestly I can’t stay here. It is not reality and more importantly it is not where God wants me to stay. Don’t get me wrong I would love to stay there just like Peter wanted to stay on the mountain during his experience...   &nb...

Gotta Keep Drafting!

In keeping with the draft analogy I want to say; You gotta keep drafting! Look if you’re organization is worth its salt they know that to keep a great team on the field you have got to keep drafting. There is no telling how those draft picks are going to pan out but that shouldn’t keep you from doing. And so the church has to keep preaching the gospel and as God chooses to bring people to you church through trusting Christ, transferring from another church, or choosing to return ...

Technology & The Gospel//Luke Emerson

We belong to a VERY accessible and technologically relevant church but not because we want people to get saved, get comfortable and wait for Jesus’ return. We have a VERY accessible and technologically relevant church because we have a message to spread and any obstacle we can remove for people on the outside looking in we will remove. more...

Journey Through Values//Adam Sheffield

Stop reading this. No, seriously, stop reading and clear your mind. Ok you may begin reading again, but before going further see if you can give the five values that Journey Church preaches. If you’re not a member you don’t have to pass this test, although reading on will help inform you of what our five core values are and how they shape our ministry. And that helps all of us understand better why we do what we do. more...

Journey Through Values: Truth//Adam Sheffield

Truth seems like an obvious value, an age-old archetype that any religious organization would have, but imagine if a religion promoted itself by saying “Falsehoods and lies are what we value!” Four words for that: Re-donk-u-lus! But beyond that obvious shot in the foot, why is it that we would value truth? more...
