Flexibility

Journey Church it seems as though God is calling out and with I want to encourage and challenge you to read, study and pray over these verses. 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 “For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.”

Summing it up Paul was saying though he was free, he voluntaily made himself a slave, for the good of others, so that he could win some to Christ. Paul is saying he will do whatever is humanly possible without compromising his walk with Christ to win the right to be heard with the gospel. He wanted to reach as many as possible and so wherever they were he would go and try to relate; if they were legalistic he would realte in that he too used to be legalistic, is they were weak believers he would spur them on, if the were from Mill Creek he would go to Mill Creek and if they were from Everett he would figure out how to realte to Everett.

Spend some time praying over this passage. Meditate on it between now and Sunday and see how God wants to use you NOW to earn the right to be heard in Jesus name.

I know it is going to take a lot of sacrfice, surrender, and suffering to do what we need to do to even be ready for March let alone after that, and so it is not based on me but on what Jesus wants us to through us to accomplish his agenda. And we know God wants glory and honor in all parts of this globe and it takes huge amounts of flexibility ((Sacrfice, Surrender, Suffering). I love you Journey Church but I love Jesus more and He is calling us out. So lets PADDLE!

Flexing for Him,

Technology & The Gospel//Luke Emerson

We belong to a VERY accessible and technologically relevant church but not because we want people to get saved, get comfortable and wait for Jesus’ return. We have a VERY accessible and technologically relevant church because we have a message to spread and any obstacle we can remove for people on the outside looking in we will remove. more...

Journey Through Values//Adam Sheffield

Stop reading this. No, seriously, stop reading and clear your mind. Ok you may begin reading again, but before going further see if you can give the five values that Journey Church preaches. If you’re not a member you don’t have to pass this test, although reading on will help inform you of what our five core values are and how they shape our ministry. And that helps all of us understand better why we do what we do. more...

Journey Through Values: Truth//Adam Sheffield

Truth seems like an obvious value, an age-old archetype that any religious organization would have, but imagine if a religion promoted itself by saying “Falsehoods and lies are what we value!” Four words for that: Re-donk-u-lus! But beyond that obvious shot in the foot, why is it that we would value truth? more...
