God shows no partiality

Listen to Peter: "Truly I understand that God shows no partiality..." In the message today I shared:

  1. God shows no partiality: we have to share the whole Gospel to  all people

-Share-we have to actually say it-not just think it MacArthur, how do we appraoch evangelism? With humility (bc God is the cause), obediently (bc we are the means), diligently (bc the more we sow the more we reap), and confidently (bc with God the little becomes much)

-Whole gospel-life, ministry, death, resurrection (they knew it all but resurrection part)

-All people-don’t hold back on anyone Rom 3:23 for “ALL have sinned and fallen short”

Why people don’t trust Christ:

People don’t believe because they don’t SEE resurrection life

People don’t believe because they don’t HEAR the witness of a resurrected life

  1. God shows no partiality:
we have to live the whole Gospel out in front of everyone

-Live with believers-Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

-Live with non-believers 1 Cor 9:19-23 “For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.”

  1.  God shows no partiality: we have to go in & by complete faith

In Christ and by faith: Abraham, Noah, the church go because of Promiser not promises

  1. God shows no partiality: he wants His church ALL IN

Rev 3:14-17 “And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation.“ ‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.

But one other thing I want to follow up on that you maybe didn't catch this morning. He showed no partiality with you either.
1. You were guilty too; of the same sin that everyone struggles with and you needed God to acquit you of your guilt.
2. You were dead too; just like the people you live around but it was God who brought you from death to life, not you.
3. You were resurrected too; if we are in Christ then we were raised in Christ just like scripture says in Colossian 3:1 "If then you have been raised with Christ"
Love you Journey Church,

Technology & The Gospel//Luke Emerson

We belong to a VERY accessible and technologically relevant church but not because we want people to get saved, get comfortable and wait for Jesus’ return. We have a VERY accessible and technologically relevant church because we have a message to spread and any obstacle we can remove for people on the outside looking in we will remove. more...

Journey Through Values//Adam Sheffield

Stop reading this. No, seriously, stop reading and clear your mind. Ok you may begin reading again, but before going further see if you can give the five values that Journey Church preaches. If you’re not a member you don’t have to pass this test, although reading on will help inform you of what our five core values are and how they shape our ministry. And that helps all of us understand better why we do what we do. more...

Journey Through Values: Truth//Adam Sheffield

Truth seems like an obvious value, an age-old archetype that any religious organization would have, but imagine if a religion promoted itself by saying “Falsehoods and lies are what we value!” Four words for that: Re-donk-u-lus! But beyond that obvious shot in the foot, why is it that we would value truth? more...
