Keep Going

Recently I was reflecting on the lyrics of the great hymn "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" Read them here:
Great is thy faithfulness
Oh God my father
There is no shadow of turning with thee
Thou changest not
Thy compassions they fail not
As thou hast been
Thou forever will be

Summer and Winter
Springtime and harvest
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join in all nature in manifold witness
To thy great faithfulness
Mercy and love

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord unto me
(So Great)

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide
Your strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine with ten thousand aside

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning
New mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord unto me

Great is thy Faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning my morning new mercies I see
New mercies I see
All I have needed thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
(Lord unto...)

Great is Thy faithfulness
(You could've chosen anyone)
Lord to me Your faithfulness
(Oh, you blessed
Oh, you blessed me)
Great is Thy faithfulness
(You gave me everything oh yes you did
That I needed and more that I needed and more)

(You've been better to me, than i've ever been,
Than I've ever been to myself,
So i'm sayin thank-you, thank-you thank-you)

Great is thy Faithfulness

Wow when you think about the faithfulness of the Lord it is life altering! So here are some things to consider:

-He does not change. One way to think about that is he will not leave or abandon you. He can't. His love and compassion binds him to sticking it out even when bail. Let's be honest we bail he doesn't, he passionately pursues.
-He is so faithful that the seasons keep coming (now in Seattle with all the cold we have been having even in the past June, God is faithful and over all). Think about that?! He is so FAITHFUL he keeps seasons coming, he holds stars and moons in lace and is faithful to do so. Can you imagine what would happen to us if he let the big golden star (sun) fall. But he is FAITHFUL.
-Pardon for sin and the peace that comes with knowing we are forgiven is part of God's faithfulness! Did you just hear that?! We could wake up and not be forgiven and have to work for it all over again everyday and we would deserve it but instead because of God the Fathers faithfulness Jesus death was enough. Praise God for your faithfulness!!!!

So the next time you feel like God has gone back on his part look up at the sky and see the sun and fall to your knees and worship God for being so faithful! The next time you wake up and feel guilty for what you did last night, and you are a follower of Jesus, roll out to the floor and hit your knees and scream out loud "thank you Jesus for coming, dying, and raising 3 days later" allowing for you to be forgiven today. When you begin to look at all of these simple things you realize that Jesus is close and he is FAITHFUL to hold it altogether just like he is doing with you.

Be faithful to Jesus and when your not he forgives you all the way.

Technology & The Gospel//Luke Emerson

We belong to a VERY accessible and technologically relevant church but not because we want people to get saved, get comfortable and wait for Jesus’ return. Journey Through Values//Adam Sheffield

Stop reading this. No, seriously, stop reading and clear your mind. Ok you may begin reading again, but before going further see if you can give the five values that Journey Church preaches. If you’re not a member you don’t have to pass this test, although reading on will help inform you of what our five core values are and how they shape our ministry. And that helps all of us understand better why we do what we do. more...

Journey Through Values: Truth//Adam Sheffield

Truth seems like an obvious value, an age-old archetype that any religious organization would have, but imagine if a religion promoted itself by saying “Falsehoods and lies are what we value!” Four words for that: Re-donk-u-lus! But beyond that obvious shot in the foot, why is it that we would value truth? more...
