September 20th - "Fall Kick Off"

Since the beginning of summer we have continued to grow as a church. Now if you know anything about churches and summers in the Northwest you know that numerical growth is not something that normally happens.

To our surprise though, we have averaged in the summer what we normally average in the school months. So as a church we want to be prepared to handle this growth and the next stage of growth coming starting this September. So I am calling us to action for the Gospel's sake! Watch the video!

Here are some areas where I know we need some help:

Tech - We are looking for individuals to run powerpoint and EasyWorship during the service. (Even if you know nothing about computers this is an easy area to pick up.)

Web - We have a great presence virtually in our community and are looking for some who would take us further (the web is a place for creative types as well as a place for technical types).

JourneyKids - You might think they already have a bunch of workers, and yes that is true, but after this past summer Sunday and what we are averaging we have continued talking about 2 rooms for many of the ages (this is exciting stuff and Kids are about to go to a whole new level; go with them).

Host Homes(Community Group) - With all the new growth we will need more homes for the heart of our ministry which is Community Groups. We have leaders who now can lead but we will need more homes to multiply groups.

Technology & The Gospel//Luke Emerson

We belong to a VERY accessible and technologically relevant church but not because we want people to get saved, get comfortable and wait for Jesus’ return. We have a VERY accessible and technologically relevant church because we have a message to spread and any obstacle we can remove for people on the outside looking in we will remove. more...

Journey Through Values//Adam Sheffield

Stop reading this. No, seriously, stop reading and clear your mind. Ok you may begin reading again, but before going further see if you can give the five values that Journey Church preaches. If you’re not a member you don’t have to pass this test, although reading on will help inform you of what our five core values are and how they shape our ministry. And that helps all of us understand better why we do what we do. more...

Journey Through Values: Truth//Adam Sheffield

Truth seems like an obvious value, an age-old archetype that any religious organization would have, but imagine if a religion promoted itself by saying “Falsehoods and lies are what we value!” Four words for that: Re-donk-u-lus! But beyond that obvious shot in the foot, why is it that we would value truth? more...
