TEAM for Christ

This past Sunday we had a great gathering at Jackson High School. Most who came in enjoyed themselves, had a great experience, and had no clue what went on behind the scenes to have Jackson converted into a place of worship.

For starters the main trailer didn't arrive until 8:40 because it was off the road due to the ice/snow. The set up guys went to the trailer and assessed the scene and said, "well I guess we won't be having church today the way we normally do." But then they sprang into action each doing their determined part and by a collective work with God leading, they were able to pull it out and bring hope back.

Once they arrived their was not an attitude of pointing fingers or thoughts of well lets just quit. No TEAM Christ just jumped into action, and what would normally be done from 8 to 9:15 was done from 8:45 to 9:30. Being pastor one would think surely they called Chris to say, "be ready because some things happened and it is going to be rough today." Nope. They took the burden on themselves and pushed themselves to great lengths to make this Sunday the best it could be. I truly believe that Christ was honored in the bad and the good this past Sunday and because of it we were able to offer Jesus a wonderful offering of praise an worship.

Thank you Journey Church for being a people who will not accept the norm! A people who push themselves to great lengths to serve the Lord, and the people of the north end. You truly are making yourselves a drink offering poured out for the Lord.

Journey Through Values//Adam Sheffield

Stop reading this. No, seriously, stop reading and clear your mind. Ok you may begin reading again, but before going further see if you can give the five values that Journey Church preaches. If you’re not a member you don’t have to pass this test, although reading on will help inform you of what our five core values are and how they shape our ministry. And that helps all of us understand better why we do what we do. more...

Journey Through Values: Truth//Adam Sheffield

Truth seems like an obvious value, an age-old archetype that any religious organization would have, but imagine if a religion promoted itself by saying “Falsehoods and lies are what we value!” Four words for that: Re-donk-u-lus! But beyond that obvious shot in the foot, why is it that we would value truth? more...
