What is re:Plant? "re:Plant" is the word we have chosen to describe the direction in which the leadership felt God is leading Journey Church for this year. We have been grown and nurtured in a pot for the past four years and now is the time in which our roots need more room. We will begin a process of moving ourselves from the pot to the open fertile ground in hopes that we will grow into a forest. If we stay connected to the vine, we will bear much fruit and therefore prove to be faithful disciples of Christ. (John 15:8)

Why? "re:Plant" is in no way a "re-birth" or a complete "do-over". The heart of re:Plant is to continue to spread the seed of the Gospel that has already taken root in our church. God is calling our church to consider its ways and examine where we are corporately and individually (Haggai and John 15). Where is our focus? Are we in fact gospel centered, and are we making an impact in our community? Whose name is famous? Journey? Or Jesus? To put it simply, Journey Church wants to be known as the "Jesus Church".

When? September 12th will be the day we celebrate our "re:Plant". Journey is praying about beginning 2 services on that day. (Times TBD)

Journey Through Values//Adam Sheffield

Stop reading this. No, seriously, stop reading and clear your mind. Ok you may begin reading again, but before going further see if you can give the five values that Journey Church preaches. If you’re not a member you don’t have to pass this test, although reading on will help inform you of what our five core values are and how they shape our ministry. And that helps all of us understand better why we do what we do. more...

Journey Through Values: Truth//Adam Sheffield

Truth seems like an obvious value, an age-old archetype that any religious organization would have, but imagine if a religion promoted itself by saying “Falsehoods and lies are what we value!” Four words for that: Re-donk-u-lus! But beyond that obvious shot in the foot, why is it that we would value truth? more...
