Acts 2:42-47
These verses tell us how the church exploded so quickly over the Mediterranean world and presents a beautiful picture of what the body of Christ (a.k.a. the church) looked like. When the Christians were being so genuine to those in need, whether poor or rich, Greek or Jew, it made others desire to see the source of their joy. They lived with open hearts and open hands and gave to all who had need even if they had to sell their own possessions to fulfill another’s need. They did this, not out of forced obligation but out of love. And the Lord added to their number.
